12 days tour from Casablanca  of imperial cities and the Sahara Desert from Casablanca. It will be an opportunity to visit tourist attractions in Rabat, Oudaias, Meknes (Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Sahrij Souani Bassin, Bab El Mansour Gate…), Volubilis, and Fes, the former Imperial City.

This journey will take you to the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where you will see Erg Chebbi, ride a camel, see sunrise and sunset, spend the night in a desert camp between dunes in the Sahara, listen to Gnaoua music in Khamlia, and see the Draa Valley and Dades Valley. Ouarzazate, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, UNESCO World Heritage Site, Marrakech, Mogador (Essaouira), and Marrakech sightseeing

Itinerary:

Our 12 days tour from Casablanca will begin with a pick-up from the Casablanca airport, followed by a transfer to a hotel where you can store your belongings.

We’ll pay a visit to the world-famous Hassan II Mosque, which is the largest mosque in North Africa and the world’s third-largest mosque. Then we’ll travel to Rabat, the kingdom’s capital, to see some of the country’s most important historical sites. You will see everything, from the Kasbah of Oudaya to the Royal Mechouar, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Hassan Tower!

On the second day, we’ll go to Chefchaouen, where you’ll have dinner and stay the night.

 

Today you will have a free program at Chefchaouen, where we will spend the night in a local riad/hotel. Dinner and breakfast included.

 

We leave Chefchaouen towards the archaeological site of Volubilis (Walili) and start discovering the fascinating Roman ruins adorned with beautiful mosaics and colorful tiles depicting Roman mythology.

The tour continues to the imperial city of Meknes, which was chosen by Sultan Moulay Ismail as his capital at the end of the 17th century, the city was built with 20 gates, more than 50 palaces, and 15 miles of surrounding wall. We discover some Meknes highlights of the city as Bab Mansour gate, Place El-Hedim (Square of Ruins), will visit the well-known Haras de Meknès, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After enjoying the city of Meknes we drive 40 minutes to reach Fes. Night in Fes

 After breakfast, we will begin our visit to “the oldest medina in the world” with an official guide. We will visit the medina with its “souks” (markets), stopping at the doors of the royal palace, the Karouine mosque, and the 9th-century university.

We will also visit the tomb of the founder of the city “Moulay Idriss II”. Lunch will be held in one of the traditional restaurants of the old medina. After lunch, we will continue our visit to visit the Nejjarine fountain, the ancient garden of the harem, and the Batha Museum. A night in a local riad. Dinner and breakfast included.

Our guide will pick you up at 8h00 in your Riad in Fes. We start our trip across the Middle Atlas to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi via Ifrane, Azrou, cedar forests, and the Ziz valley gorge. It’s a noteworthy route with an excellent landscape that provides great shuts with different sceneries for photographers, we stop for lunch in Midelt.

We still the sting of the Erg Chebbi dunes where you will ride a camel for two hours to enjoy the sun sitting in 250m and nearby we spend the night in Berber campsite where dinner is freshly prepared and served under the stars. After dinner, it is all the time nice to join round fire for a few pieces of music with drums.

Today, we explore the desert in 4×4 by visiting the village of Khamlia, Hassilabiad, and the dunes of the desert. In Khamlia, we listen to local Gnawa music. In the afternoon, we ride camels to reach the Sahara camp at the bottom of sand dunes. We spend this night in the Saharan camp equipped with Merzouga. We will have a traditional Berber dinner and we will enjoy the local drum music. After watching the sunset in the desert, we spend the night in the nomad tents of Merzouga.

If we wake up early enough, we can watch the spectacle of the sunrise when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After breakfast, we leave for Tinghir and the Todgha gorges for lunch. The road passes through Tinjdad and the Todgha Valley. Here there are plenty of opportunities to walk, such as along the river through the gardens or up the road on the other side of the gorges. We continue to the valley of Dades for the night. Night in a hotel.

A full day of visiting Marrakech. We will visit the Menara, a swimming pool surrounded by flower beds serving as an irrigation system for the surrounding fields. The visit will include several impressive sites: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Palace Jewelry Museum. Optional lunch in the medina followed by a walk in the colorful souks of Marrakech. We will have a drink at sunset on the terrace of a café overlooking the Jemaa el Fna square. Dinner and breakfast included.

Today, we explore Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. We cross valleys populated with orange groves and olive trees. We will learn more about argan trees, special trees, appreciated for their nutritional, cosmetic, and medicinal properties. We explore the medina of Essaouira, where we have the opportunity to browse the ancient streets. Afternoon, return to Marrakech. Night at the hotel. Dinner and breakfast included.
